Spencer Rattler is off to another rough start for South Carolina as the quarterback lost a fumble on a sack in the first quarter, and struggled to find ways to move the offense.

The Gamecocks were 2-for-6 on third down conversions in the first half, and fans quickly clamored for backup Luke Doty for simply a change, or to move to a more experienced quarterback in the system.

Rattler came into the Kentucky game leading the SEC in interceptions (7), and Rattler was 8th in the league in completion percentage. However, South Carolina was also 10th in the league in third down conversions, and aside from a short-yardage drive thanks to a turnover, the South Carolina offense and Rattler struggled to get on track.

Then he was intercepted with 35 seconds remaining. Rattler finished the first half 6-for-9 passing for 49 yards. He had 4 carries and lost a yard rushing.

The game was tied at 7 at halftime.
