Steve Spurrier can’t help himself.

In the preseason, South Carolina’s coach discredited Texas A&M’s early success under Kevin Sumlin due to its weak non-conference schedule, picking out games over the last two seasons against Sam Houston St., UTEP and Rice in particular.

And still, after the Aggies humiliated Spurrier’s Gamecocks at Williams-Brice Stadium on Aug. 28 with 680 yards of offense and 52 points, Spurrier feels the need to talk scheduling, doing so at his weekly press conference Tuesday.

Sumlin fired back with this when told of Spurrier’s comments.

This new SEC rivalry is just beginning.
