Stephon Gilmore may be having his best year in his eighth season in the NFL.

The New England Patriots cornerback made his second interception of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and returned it 64 yards for a touchdown to give the Patriots a 27-10 lead on Sunday. It was his second interception of the quarter after he earlier picked off a third down pass at the Bengals’ 29-yard line.

That gave Gilmore six interceptions for the season, which put him in the lead in the NFL past teammate Devin McCourtey, Baltimore’s Marcus Peters and Pittsburgh’s Minkah Fitzpatrick, who all had five entering Sunday’s games.

Gilmore was signed by the New England Patriots as an unrestricted free agent from Buffalo in 201. He was originally drafted by Buffalo in the first round (10th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.

His best interception season before this year was in 2016 in Buffalo when he had five picks. However, Gilmore’s had at least two picks every year since his rookie season.

Earlier this season against the Dallas Cowboys, Gilmore made his fourth interception of the season and added two passes defensed and five tackles in the win. He held Dallas WR Amari Cooper without a catch during the game, the first time that Cooper hadn’t made a catch since he joined the Cowboys.
