Former South Carolina kicker Ryan Succop is looking for a new NFL home.

The Tennessee Titans released Succop this week. Succop, who has been in the NFL 11 seasons, missed more than half of the regular season. He opened the 2019 season on injured reserve and did not begin practicing until Oct. 23 and returning to the active roster on Nov. 2. In six games, Succop made 24-of-25 extra points, but just 1-of-6 field goals.

Succop’s release is being described as a “cap casualty” as the Titans try to free up cap space to re-sign Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry.

“Over the last two days I have had the difficult task of informing a number of our players they are being released,” Titans General Manager Jon Robinson said when the releases of Succop and TE Delanie Walker were announced. “These aren’t easy conversations, but I want to thank each of them for the significant contributions they have made to our organization both on and off the field. They each played a part in our success last year in ways big and small.”

The team’s social media thanked Succop by remembering his game-winning field goal against the Kansas City Chiefs:

For his career, Succop has made 236-of-287 field goals (82.2 percent) and 338-of-348 extra points (97.1 percent).
