Darius Rucker, one of USC’s biggest supporters, probably didn’t think it could get much better than the trio of 11-win seasons the Gamecocks enjoyed under Steve Spurrier.

That was until they made their first Final Four in program history on Sunday, and it brought Rucker to tears.

Rucker’s emotional outburst was justified, as this may be the most impressive moment in Gamecock sports history.

Seventh-seeded South Carolina’s unlikely run featured wins over national powers such as Marquette, Duke, and Baylor before defeating SEC East rival Florida at Madison Square Garden in the Elite Eight — the Nos. 2, 3, and 4 seed in USC’s side of the bracket.

The Gamecocks Cinderella story could get even sweeter, as they take on No.1 seed Gonzaga on April 1st for a chance to play in the NCAA title game.
