The South Carolina Gamecocks cracked the College Football Playoff rankings for the first time ever this week, checking in at No. 24.

However, if the Gamecocks want to stay in the top 25, they’ll need to pull off a major upset on Saturday night against No. 3 Clemson.

South Carolina hasn’t beaten its biggest rival for three years, but the Gamecocks will be eager to avoid a fourth-straight loss to the Tigers on Saturday night at Williams-Brice Stadium. On Saturday morning’s SportsCenter, former Florida QB and current SEC Network analyst Tim Tebow said South Carolina’s defensive front is going to be the key to the game:

“South Carolina is a really good football team, but to get the win, they need to do it with their front seven on defense, stopping the run specifically,” he said. “Skai Moore, the linebacker who is a senior, has to be an animal and get after Kelly Bryant.”

The best bet for the Gamecocks is going to be a low-scoring game in which their defense manages to keep the Tigers in check.

Last year, Clemson rolled to an easy 56-7 victory. See if the Gamecocks can keep things closer on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN.
