Walk-off at Founders Park: South Carolina pulls off incredible 9th inning comeback
South Carolina got off to a great start this baseball season with 2 wins in the season-opening 3-game series against UNC-Greensboro.
The Gamecocks scored 6 runs in the 9th inning, and then got the winning run in the 10th to deliver an 8-7 decision on Sunday. Michael Braswell reached on a fielder’s choice, which scored Colin Burgess, and a celebration ensued. Andrew Eyster fueled the late scoring with a 9th inning grand slam. Braswell also became the winning pitcher after he struck out the side in the 10th inning.
Braswell told reporters after the game, “I’m always nervous … my confidence comes from me putting in work. … Honestly, it would be hard to top what I did this weekend.”
