The South Carolina Gamecocks ran into the buzzsaw that is the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats last Saturday, and will look to rebound against Missouri at home this week.

Last year, the Gamecocks defeated the Tigers 31-13 in Columbus, and they will look to replicate those results as they try to gain back ground in the East.

On Wednesday, coach Will Muschamp joined the SEC Coaches Teleconference to preview Saturday’s opponent.

Here’s what he said:

  • Jake Bentley practiced on Tuesday, he looks good to go. Bryan Edwards practice, he should be good to go. Justin Ibe is out for the game.

On Missouri’s offense under Dooley:

  • Tempo is the same, but to me, they are more committed to the running game. They are doing a nice job running the ball… I think they have some talented backs… they get favorable boxes due to Drew Lock but I see that commitment to the run game

What do you still implement that learned from Saban?

  • The organization, obviously, spending time with him on the defensive side of the ball, managing the game, managing the staff. Recruiting… the evaluation process, even some we did with the Miami Dolphins… the offseason program…there’s a lot I tailored from Coach.

Are you surprised how many people have hired his assistant?

  • He’s the best coach in college football. ADs see that and want to be a part of that, but you have to be yourself and do what you do and be yourself to have success.
