Florida QB Kyle Trask had one of the best games in the league last week with a big win at Ole Miss. One of the ways he has excelled is because he’s accurate throwing the ball, and has strong pocket presence.

That’s the opinion of South Carolina coach Will Muschamp, who faces Trask and the Gators this week. Muschamp said on the SEC coaches media teleconference on Wednesday that he’s impressed with Trask’s character and mental toughness to wait for his turn at Florida, and then take advantage of his opportunity.

“He got his opportunity, one man’s misfortune is another man’s opportunity, he took advantage of it,” Muschamp said. “So obviously has a good mental disposition about himself. Obviously some tough mental toughness to be able to do that so. But again, I think that he’s very accurate with the football, in my opinion, just watching him over the last two seasons he is very good and pocket presence. He buys time for himself. He’s a big man he’s 6-foot-5, 240. He moves around well but he does a really good job of buying time in the pocket of evading the rush, feeling the rush moving his feet, buying time and he’s always got his, his eyes downfield.”

Trask does a good job against man coverage to create space, and then check the ball down to a running back.

“I just think he has a very good command of the offense I think he runs the offense extremely well,” Muschamp said. “I think he has arm talent to make the all the throws he needs to make and he’s got a very good understanding and a very good supporting cast he’s also got four seniors on the offensive line.”
