South Carolina got a nice conference win last weekend by defeating Tennessee 27-24 in Columbia and now look to carry that momentum on the road to Oxford to face an Ole Miss team coming off a bye week.

According to Will Muschamp, who met with the media on Tuesday, the Gamecocks will head to Ole Miss without the services of a few defensive players.

“Dennis Daley is probably doubtful for this weekend. He did not practice today, he’s in a boot to keep the swelling down. We will look at him again tomorrow but I would say he’s probably doubtful. Randrecous Davis, Chad Terrell are day-to-day.”

If Daley is out, the South Carolina coach said to look for Malik Young to start in his place. Muschamp noted that Young was named the team’s offensive lineman of the week following the Tennessee game.

Facing off against an explosive Ole Miss passing game led by quarterback Jordan Ta’amu and receivers A.J Brown and Damarkus Lodge with tight end Dawson Knox, the Gamecocks will once again be without the services of defensive backs J.T. Ibe and Nick Harvey, as Muschamp listed them both as “out” for this week.

In transfer news, South Carolina has lost some depth on the offensive line as 2018 signee Jesus Gibbs is no longer with the program.

“Jesus Gibbs and I had a conversation yesterday, he’s going to transfer,” Muschamp revealed on Tuesday. “(We) wish him the best.”

Gibbs was a three-star member of South Carolina’s 2018 recruiting class out of Dumfries, Virginia. He was an all-state selection following his senior season at Potomac High School.
