The South Carolina Gamecocks have had some incredible receivers over the years, from Alshon Jeffery, Sidney Rice and Pharoh Cooper to Sterling Sharpe, Kenny McKinley and Robert Brooks.

Heading into 2018, they have another dynamic duo at the position in Deebo Samuel and Bryan Edwards.

Edwards, who will be a junior, is often overlooked, but he has plenty of confidence. Recently, he said he wants to end up on the Gamecocks’ all-time records list and erase some marks set by the other stars (via The State):

“I want to make plays here,” Edwards said. “I want to break records. I want to set a standard. Guys like Alshon Jeffery, Sidney Rice, I want to leave my mark with those guys, legends.”

In two seasons, Edwards has 108 catches for 1,383 yards and nine touchdowns. He’ll need to have a big junior season, but the records are certainly within reach if he stays two more years.

McKinley (207 catches), Jeffery (3,042 yards) and Jeffery/Rice (23 touchdowns) are the current record holders. With a guy like QB Jake Bentley throwing him the ball, though, those records could all be Edwards’ by the time his Gamecock career is over.
