Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Super Bowl 55 Odds

Football fans will be getting a fantastic quarterback matchup in this game between the legendary Brady (who’s in his 10th Super Bowl) and Patrick Mahomes (who’s making his second consecutive Super Bowl appearance).

Brady didn’t need Bill Belichick’s assistance this time, taking his slate of talented offensive weapons to the Super Bowl in his first season in Tampa. Notably, this game marks¬† the first time ever that a team is playing the Super Bowl in its home stadium.

Here are the current odds for Chiefs vs. Buccaneers.

The Chiefs are currently a 3.0-point favorite over the Buccaneers.

Kansas City is 8-10 against the spread while Tampa Bay is 11-8. During this year’s playoff period, the Chiefs have covered one of their two games. The Bucs have covered two of their three postseason games.

Obviously, both teams are hot right now. The Chiefs have lost just one game since Week 5 — the Week 17 defeat at the hands of the Chargers, and it was because the team sat numerous starters after already clinching the top spot in the AFC. The Buccaneers, on the other hand, have won seven straight, with their most recent loss coming at the hands of the Chiefs in Week 12.

The talent of both teams is likely why the moneyline is tight (Chiefs -166, Buccaneers +140).

The total sitting at 56.5 points is reasonable, given the strength of both offenses. Tampa Bay and Kansas City  are averaging 30.7 and 30.0 points, respectively, in the postseason.

The over has hit in 11 of Tampa’s 19 games thus far (11-8) and nine of Kansas City’s 18 games (9-9).
