College World Series fans blast NCAA for tone deaf messages about N.C. State's season, stadium attendance
Officials around the College World Series have taken on criticism from fans who have blasted them for mishandling the COVID-19 situation with N.C. State, which led to the team being sent home, and its Saturday game with Vanderbilt declared a no-contest.
The NCAA tweeted after 10 p.m. ET on Saturday night, “Thank you @NCStateBaseball, for a season full of memories!” In response, fans from around the country fired back saying that it wasn’t necessary, and not only did it hurt the Wolfpack, it also hurt Mississippi State because the Bulldogs would face a more rested Vanderbilt team.
The NCAA also was roasted for promoting that the attendance was 21,883.
“Oh yeah this makes it all better. Not. NC State got screwed, and so did MS State already by having to face a well-rested Leiter and Co. Hail State, need to win this one for the Wolfpack.” … “You forgot to include that the health department did not recommend sending them home!

Oh thank God, the “thank you for a season full of memories!” post. I was worried y’all were gonna screw them over by taking matters out of the players’ hands and ending their season, but y’all came in with the thank you post just in time to save the day. Way to make it right ✊🏻

How tone deaf is the NCAA to tweet about attendance numbers after sending NC state home?

No wait, that would mean the NCAA wouldn’t make as much money off of fans in the tournament, only to exploit the athletes and not allow scholarships for the whole roster.
My bad guys

How many of the 21,883 were tested for Covid? B/c the pandemic is raging and the virus is so deadly, I assume everyone wore masks. And the game must have been held in a 120,000 seat stadium to allow for safe social distancing. Don’t reply immediately. You can wait until 2:30 AM.
