Every now and then, you’ll see teammates help each other up and pat each other on the butt. Heck, sometimes an official will even help a player up and pat him on the butt and tell him “good play.”

But, on Saturday during the Texas-West Virginia game, it got a little bit out of hand.

This clip of a referee repeatedly patting Texas QB Sam Ehlinger on the butt went viral during Saturday’s game:

We count 4 pats and then a little rub as the ref followed Ehlinger toward the Texas huddle.

Nothing wrong with showing some appreciation for a great college player like Ehlinger, but maybe keep it to a couple pats or so to avoid going viral on Twitter.
