Report: Virginia Tech freshman linebacker suspended after being charged with second-degree murder
We have a wild story to share from Virginia as the Hokies have suspended a true freshman linebacker after he was reportedly charged with second-degree murder.
Virginia Beach native and 2021 Hokie signee Isimemen Etute has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder according to Jeff Williamson of WSLS 10 news in Blacksburg.
Following Etute’s arrest, Virginia Tech has suspended the freshman linebacker and removed him from the team’s online roster. Etute is currently still in jail.

On Tuesday at 10:30 p.m., while officers were performing a welfare check in downtown Blacksburg at 119 N. Main Street they found a man who had died, according to the Blacksburg Police Department.
Investigators ruled the manner of death a homicide, identified Isimemen Etute, of Virginia Beach, as a person of interest and later charged him with second-degree murder.
Etute was a three-star signee in Virginia Tech’s latest recruiting class.
