UCLA vs. Oregon: Prediction and preview
UCLA vs. Oregon is the game of the week in the Pac-12, as the undefeated Bruins head to Autzen Stadium to take on a resurgent Ducks program. The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. Eastern time kickoff and can be seen on FOX.
UCLA vs. Oregon preview
This will be a big game for Chip Kelly, the UCLA coach who used to head up the Oregon program. Kelly went 46-7 in 4 seasons with the Ducks, winning the Pac-12 title 3 times and the Rose Bowl once.
No, he hasn’t coached at Oregon in a decade now, but you know it’s still a game he really wants to win, especially since it would put the Bruins at a perfect 7-0 and in the driver’s seat in the Pac-12.

Both the Ducks and Bruins rely heavily on their quarterbacks to make plays. Oregon is led by former Auburn QB Bo Nix.
Since a Week 1 blowout loss to Georgia in Atlanta, Nix has been spectacular. In 6 games this season, he has thrown for 1,526 yards, 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. As a rusher, he’s added 331 yards and 8 scores.
For the Bruins, Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate. While leading UCLA to a perfect record thus far, he has compiled 1,510 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 2 picks. As a runner, he has gone for 231 yards and 4 additional scores.
UCLA also has a star running back in Zach Charbonnet, who already has 615 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns this year. He’s averaging 7.1 yards per carry, but Oregon has the Pac-12’s No. 1 run defense, allowing only 98 yards per game to opponents.
For the record, though, UCLA has the league’s No. 2 run defense, allowing only 100 yards per game to foes. So, expect running room to be hard to find on Saturday afternoon.
Oregon’s Troy Franklin has the most receiving yards of any player in this game, having caught 27 passes for 429 yards and 3 scores for the Ducks through 6 games.

The Autzen crowd is one of the best in the country, so UCLA will have to be sharp offensively and avoid pre-snap penalties if it wants to keep its perfect season going.
UCLA vs. Oregon prediction
The quarterbacks will be key to who wins this game. Can DTR handle the Autzen crowd? Will Chip Kelly score a win at his old stomping grounds? In order to do that, the Bruins’ defense will have to slow down a red-hot Bo Nix.
Oregon makes one more big play at home and kicker Camden Lewis (31-for-31 on extra points and 7-for-7 on field goals) knocks one through the uprights as time expires to give the Ducks the win.
Prediction: Oregon 37, UCLA 34
