The Georgia Dome has been home to some incredible NFL and college football moments. Record-breaking performances and games that will stick with people for the rest of their lives took place in the Dome, but it’s time to say goodbye.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Tim Tucker, the team announced on Friday that the Dome will be imploded at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20. The stadium was expected to be demolished earlier this spring, but delays in the construction of the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium prompted officials to keep it around as a safety net.

After spending the past 25 years in the Georgia Dome, the Atlanta Falcons are expected to play for the first time in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Aug. 26 in a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Dome has hosted the annual Chik-Fil-A Kickoff Game and the SEC Championship Game, but the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be the site for those moving forward. It will house this year’s Chik-Fil-A Kickoff between Alabama and Florida State on Saturday, Sept. 2 as well as Tennessee and Georgia Tech on Monday, Sept. 4.
