2016 Georgia coaching staff
The University of Georgia hired Kirby Smart as its next head coach in December of 2015, and Smart hired one of the best staffs in the SEC.
SEC veteran Jim Chaney will take over the Bulldogs’ offense, while former Alabama defensive backs coach Mel Tucker will coordinate the defense. Kevin Sherrer and Tracy Rocker were retained from Mark Richt’s staff.
One of the most underrated hires during the offseason was offensive line coach Sam Pittman. Pittman came to UGA from Arkansas, where he previously worked with Chaney.
Now the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, Kirby Smart looks to make a name for himself in the Southeastern Conference.
Mel Tucker is Georgia's new defensive coordinator. He previously coached defensive backs at Alabama.
Jim Chaney is a seasoned coach with experience at Tennessee, Arkansas and more.
