The college football coaching carousel is going to be crazy this offseason, and some big-time moves are sure to be huge surprises.

In fact, if Texas A&M does indeed part ways with coach Kevin Sumlin, the Aggies could be in the market to make a splash hire. That big-name coach could come from the ACC, where Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher has been linked to College Station in rumors.

Outkick the Coverage’s Clay Travis thinks Fisher would be interested in the Aggies and went as far as to predict that Texas A&M will indeed be able to hire him away from the Seminoles:

I think there is real momentum for Jimbo Fisher to leave Florida State and I’m told Texas A&M may be firing Kevin Sumlin no matter what happens in the LSU game. That is, the relationship is broken between Sumlin’s bosses at A&M and him.

So I’m actually predicting right now that Jimbo is going to leave FSU and take the A&M job. I think Jimbo wants out of Tallahassee for personal reasons more than anything else.

Obviously, it would be tough for Fisher to leave a place where he’s won a national championship, but he may be looking for a new career opportunity.

It sounds like Texas A&M really wants him, so it’ll be interesting to watch that situation play out over the next few weeks.
