Conner Weigman will continue his collegiate career at Houston.

Weigman took a visit to Houston earlier this week and reports of his commitment broke on Wednesday afternoon. Later that evening, he made it official by formally committing to the Cougars.

Here’s his announcement:

Weigman began the year as Texas A&M’s starting quarterback, but had an up-and-down campaign for the Aggies. He got off to a rough start in the season-opener against Notre Dame and later missed a couple games due to injury. He briefly re-gained the starting job from Marcel Reed, but ended up getting benched midway through the LSU game in late October and never saw significant snaps for the Aggies again.

Weigman finished the season by completing 56% of his passes for 819 yards, 3 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He averaged 7.2 yards per attempt.

Weigman initially arrived at Texas A&M as a 5-star prospect in the Aggies’ famous 2022 recruiting class that ended the cycle ranked No. 1 overall in the country. Weigman will transfer to Houston with 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Moving forward, Texas A&M will have Reed and UAB transfer quarterback Jacob Zeno to compete at the QB position. A&M landed a commitment from Zeno earlier this week. Zeno, who began his career at Baylor, will be entering his 7th season of college eligibility in 2024. His best season came in 2023 when he threw for 3,126 yards and 20 touchdowns while playing for the Blazers.
