The Texas A&M Aggies pulled off one of the biggest victories of the round of 32 last weekend, knocking off the defending champion North Carolina Tar Heels by 21 points.

That was a surprising victory, to say the least, but the outcome was never in doubt, as the Aggies pulled away in the second half.

The lopsided victory caught the eye of ESPN analyst Dick Vitale, who told Bradenton.com that the Aggies’ win was the most surprising of the non-Virginia upsets:

Yeah, the way they got beat. See, Texas A&M had a great preseason ranking. They sort of slid there. Suspensions, had academic problems and then all of a sudden they got a little bit hot at the end and earned a bid. And they were good enough rebound-wise, strong on the glass and not surprised they beat Carolina. I’m surprised they beat them by 21 points.

The Aggies looked like a team that can go much deeper into the tournament, but they’ll have their work cut out for them against Michigan on Thursday night.

The game tips off at 7:37 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on TBS.
