Texas A&M landed a junior college quarterback for its 2018 class on Saturday evening.

JUCO dual-threat QB Shane Johnson pledged his commitment to the Aggies via Twitter.

“After an amazing meeting and visit with Coach Dickey and Coach Fisher, I am blessed to be furthering my education and football career at the prestigious Texas A&M University,” Johnson said.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Johnson is A&M’s only QB commit in the current class. He is a Houston native (Houston Christian High School).

Johnson has been playing at Snow College in Utah. This past season, he racked up 2,135 passing yards to go along with 20 touchdown passes, according to his 247Sports profile. He also rushed for 577 yards and had an additional seven TDs on the ground.

Johnson was previously committed to Kent State. He committed to the Aggies as a preferred walk-on, according to a report from 247Sports’ Brian Perroni.
