Things have been far from well with the Texas A&M football program as of late and head coach Jimbo Fisher has taken the heat for much of the misfortune.

But not everyone sees Fisher as the cause for concern, including college football analyst Greg McElroy, who recently took to Twitter with his thoughts on the final play of the Texas A&M vs. Alabama game in which the Aggies fell 24-20.

“For everyone crushing Jimbo for the final play call.. The call was fine. The route was awful. It was WAY TOO FAST,” he wrote. “You have to be REALLY patient on a Pylon Comeback. Gotta get 5yds deep into the end zone to give yourself room.”

It’s easy to see what McElroy is saying here and the perspective that this isn’t all on Fisher. But it’s become simple for people to put him under fire immediately because of the inconsistency and issues the Aggies have displayed on offense this year.

Texas A&M will take another shot at getting back on the right track as they face the South Carolina Gamecocks on Oct. 22 with a lot to think about over this open date.
