Jashaun Corbin won’t have to sit out the upcoming season after leaving Texas A&M for Florida State this offseason.

Corbin decided in mid-December to leave the Aggie program and quickly decided he would return home to play for the Seminoles. Florida State officially announced that Corbin has been granted immediate eligibility on Tuesday.

“I’d like to start by giving all glory to God,” Corbin said in a released statement. “I’m thankful for the opportunities He has given me and for this opportunity to play at Florida State. Thank you to everyone in Compliance for working on my behalf and to my coaches for their support throughout this process. I also want to say thank you to Texas A&M for making this possible. I’m looking forward to being a big contributor to the team this upcoming season.”

Coming off his redshirt freshman season with the Aggies, Corbin rushed for 483 total yards with Texas A&M the previous two seasons after making 14 appearances on the field. Corbin was lost for the season last year in Texas A&M’s 24-10 loss at Clemson.

After Corbin went done with his season-ending injury, freshman Isaiah Spiller stepped up for the Aggies and finished the season with 946 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

“We are grateful to the NCAA for this decision and to Texas A&M for supporting this process,” FSU head coach Mike Norvell said in a released statement. “We’re excited for Jashaun and the opportunity he’s going to have to impact this program on and off the field.”

Corbin signed with the Aggies as a member of the program’s 2018 recruiting cycle out of Florida.
