Coming out of the win against New Mexico over the weekend, Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher had numerous injury updates to share when speaking to the media on Monday.

Here’s what Fisher said about numerous injured players:

  • Junior offensive lineman Luke Matthews and graduate defensive back Keldrick Carper are both “day to day” with injuries.
  • Junior wide receiver Ainias Smith is “probably the same” in also being day to day, Fisher said, although he noted that Smith “seemed good afterwards” on Saturday.
  • Junior defensive back Erick Young should be returning to practice soon.
  • Sophomore offensive lineman Layden Robinson should be returning to practice on Monday afternoon and returning to game action this week. Fisher noted, “We’ll see. That’s always speculation until you see them out there and what goes on. Hopefully he’ll be playing.”

Although Texas A&M was without some key players, it had no trouble improving to 3-0 with a 34-0 home win over New Mexico on Saturday. Now, the Aggies will look to keep rolling as they play their SEC opener against Arkansas in Arlington this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
