Jimbo Fisher spoke to the media on Monday. One of the questions he was asked was referring to areas of need that Texas A&M may have this offseason.

In response to the question about Texas A&M’s areas of need Fisher said that the whole team is essentially an area of need for the Aggies.

“Just our team. You go and get the best available players that you think can help you win a championship or play well and have a good football team. Guys don’t want to be guys to add depth, they want to come to play. That creates competition and competition makes you better, that’s the great thing about it.”

Fisher and the Aggies failed to reach a bowl game after finishing the regular season at 5-7.

Some of the better wins last season were back-to-back upsets of No. 7 Miami and No. 10 Arkansas. However, Texas A&M lost its next six games after beating the Razorbacks.

The transfer portal has added another element to college football as programs can find quicker solutions to team needs.

If Fisher wants to help Texas A&M reach its first SEC Championship game, the portal is something that he’ll need to use well.
