Comeback SZN got a burst of life when it was announced on Saturday night that former Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel had signed a contract with the new Alliance of American Football.

However, since he played at A&M, the San Antonio Commanders had the first shot to sign Manziel and ended up passing on him, leaving him without a team.

Now, though, he reportedly has a new squad, as the Memphis Express have signed him to a contract:

The Express are a league-worst 1-5, so Manziel will have his work cut out for him to turn things around.

He’ll compete with current starter Zach Mettenberger for the starting job as the season moves forward.
