Many consider the Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett a lock to be selected by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

However, not everyone is riding the Garrett bandwagon, as North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky’s name has been linked to the Browns as well.

One source told Cleveland.com that, if he were the Browns and coach Hugh Jackson, he’d definitely take Trubisky at No. 1:

“He’s got size, he can move, he sees the field, has a big arm and more upside than Carson Wentz last year. They’d be set,” the source said.

Jackson did say he’s done his research on the North Carolina quarterback, adding that he’s not concerned with the fact that Trubisky only made 13 career starts in college:

“It’s a small sample size, but at the same time he still played,” Jackson said. “I don’t think that’s what’s important. If a guy demonstrates the characteristics you’re looking for, it’s important to keep digging and find out more, but I don’t get concerned about that part of it as long as a guy can do what we need him to do.”

Most draft analysts still expect the Browns to select Garrett, but the fact that there’s some debate raises questions as to what Cleveland is thinking.

It’ll be shocking if the team passes on Garrett, but with the Browns, anything is possible.
