Texas A&M fans slam Kirk Herbstreit for College GameDay comments
The Texas A&M Aggies are the No. 5 team in the country, but they likely need some help to make the College Football Playoff.
The Aggies also need to make a statement against Tennessee on Saturday afternoon to show they can pass the “eye test.”
A&M’s only loss came by 28 points to No. 1 Alabama, so it’s not like the Aggies have been a disappointment. Still, on ESPN’s College GameDay, analyst Kirk Herbstreit drew some criticism for saying the Aggies weren’t “elite.”
Aggie fans, who have been quick to defend their team on Twitter as the Playoff approaches, jumped all over Herbie’s comments when he said Oklahoma and Iowa State were better teams that A&M:

Herbstreit has lost all credibility by even implying OU is better than A&M! What a joke….@TexAgs @KirkHerbstreit @CollegeGameDay

It’s been beaten to a pulp but it’s still hilarious hearing Kirk Herbstreit say A&M isn’t elite, then transitioning directly to advocating for Iowa State and OU being elite

College GameDay actually is talking nice about the Aggies…
Except Herbstreit per the norm

Did A&M forget to send Kirk Herbstreit a Christmas card or something? No love

Kirk herbstreit: “if Clemson loses, they’re still in over A&M because their two loses are from a top 2 team in the country.”
A&M’s ONLY loss was to #1 Alabama who has been absolutely dominate all year… Herby your bias is showing.

For the Aggies, the path to the Playoff is actually pretty simple. If Notre Dame beats Clemson for a second time this season in the ACC Championship Game, the Aggies could jump into the field.
We’ll see what happens in that game, but A&M fans will want to pay close attention.
