Texas A&M will be without a promising lineman at the Orange Bowl matchup with North Carolina after reports that freshman offensive lineman Chris Morris is facing multiple traffic charges.

The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office said Morris was arrested for evading arrest with a motor vehicle and reckless driving charges. He posted a $6,500 bond and was released, according to the sheriff’s office, KBTX reported. The Houston Chronicle also noted that Morris was arrested by Texas A&M police on Dec. 5 on charges of possessing less than two ounces of marijuana, and was released the same day after posting $2,000 bond.

Morris was a highly recruited offensive guard out of West Memphis, Arkansas. He was ranked the No. 1 guard in the Class of 2020, according to the 247Sports Composite. He was also the top-ranked player in Arkansas, and heavily recruited by the likes of Arkansas, LSU and Tennessee. He had a reported 35 offers.

Morris has been a backup lineman this season.

A copy of a law enforcement document sent to KBTX shows Morris was in a Dodge Challenger and was stopped Tuesday morning on Highway 21 at CR 327 north of Giddings. Giddings is about 58 miles southwest of College Station. Officials with the program told KBTX that Morris has not been at practice this week and will not travel with the team to Miami. The Aggies are playing North Carolina in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 2.
