The Texas A&M Aggies are trying to decide between Kellen Mond and Nick Starkel at the quarterback position this offseason, and it doesn’t look like a decision will be made anytime soon.

Last year, Starkel won the starting job, but went down with a leg injury in Week 1, giving Mond the job for the next several weeks. Mond made great strides, but Starkel ended the year as the starter.

Entering the offseason, there was always going to be a battle for the starting job unless one of the two transferred. Recently, Mond explained why he decided to stick things out in College Station (via SportsDay.DallasNews.com):

“I just feel like there’s no reason to,” Mond said of transferring. “I feel comfortable in my position. I feel comfortable in the way Jimbo Fisher develops quarterbacks and has developed me so far since he got here. It never really crossed my mind and never will.”

Depending on who wins the starting job this offseason, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the other quarterback transfer.

For now, though, both quarterbacks seem happy with the Aggies, and it’ll be interesting to see who wins the Week 1 snaps.
