Texas A&M is set to lose yet another player to the transfer portal when it opens in a matter of days.

LJ Johnson Jr., a sophomore running back with the Aggies, will enter the portal, he announced on his Twitter feed on Sunday evening.

“I would first like to thank God for allowing me to play college football at the highest level. I also want to thank Coach Jimbo Fisher and his staff for believing in me and providing me with an opportunity to play the game I love,” Johnson wrote. “After extensive prayer and discussion with my family, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal.”

Johnson had 21 carries for 76 yards as a true freshman with the Aggies in 2021 through 4 games before eventually redshirting. In 2022, he played in 6 games, taking 10 carries for 29 yards and 2 touchdowns. His last outing was against South Carolina on Oct. 22, where he was credited with a rushing attempt for no gain.
