Texas A&M has a chance to prove its woes against Sam Houston were just first-game jitters. Can the No. 6 Aggies rebound against Appalachian State Saturday morning?

The Aggies return to Kyle Field Saturday afternoon with a chance to start the season off at 2-0. Led by quarterback Haynes King, Texas A&M will look to stabilize its offense against a Mountaineers roster that’s also in a need of a win following their heartbreaking 63-61 loss to North Carolina.

The Aggies are certainly winning away from the football field thanks to their social media team. On Friday, A&M dropped another epic hype video prior to kickoff.

Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher has mentioned for years how he’s wanted his offense to be more vertical in the passing game. In last week’s 31-0 win over the Bearkats, King threw for 364 yards and 3 touchdowns, all of which came on throws of over 30 yards downfield. Senior receiver Ainias Smith led the charge with 6 catches for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sophomore receiver Yulkieth Brown also scored on a 66-yard pass during the first quarter to make it 7-0.

The Aggies will need better protection in the run game for speedster Devon Achane. Last season, the junior led the SEC in yards per run at 7.0. Against the Bearkats, Achane totaled 54 yards on 18 carries and averaged 2.3 yards per run.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm. ET. The Aggies open as an -18.5 favorite over the Mountaineers, according to FanDuel.
