Texas A&M to reportedly re-work Jimbo Fisher's contract with Board approval pending
Jimbo Fisher has put Texas A&M on a trajectory to win the SEC West, and although the Aggies haven’t delivered thus far, the leaders among the Aggies believe it’s enough to warrant a contract extension.
Multiple reports from the Houston Chronicle and TexAgs suggest that Fisher is due to receive a raise and contract extension, and an announcement is coming within days.
Billy Liucci of TexAgs reported that the new deal is expected to be for another 10 years at $9 million per year.
Fisher’s original deal was 10 years and $75 million guaranteed, with it broken into a base salary of $500,000 and “supplemental” income of $7 million annually among the general parameters.
Fisher arrived at Texas A&M after the 2017 football season after 8 years with Florida State. In Tallahassee, he won 3 conference titles, and the 2013 national championship.
New deal between Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher will average right at $9 million over 10 years. Should be approved tomorrow. Aggie AD @RossBjorkAD and the Board stepped up in a big time way. Long-term commitment from both sides here.
