It’d be easy to see why some college football teams would not be excited to have Clemson on its schedule. The Tigers have been one of the top programs in the nation over the past few seasons.

However, that isn’t stopping Texas A&M defensive tackle Kingsley Keke from being ready for the opportunity.

“Clemson’s a really talented team,” Keke said on Monday at SEC Media Days in Atlanta. “They have a really good front seven. I have major respect for what they do. I can’t wait to play them, and it should be fun.”

After opening the season at home against Northwestern State on Aug. 30, the Aggies will then welcome Clemson to Kyle Field on Sept. 8. It will be the first real test for Texas A&M under new coach Jimbo Fisher.

The Aggies lead the all-time series against the Tigers, 3-1. However, the two schools have not faced off since 2005, when Clemson earned a 25-24 win. The last time the two teams played in College Station was 2004, when Texas A&M won, 27-6.

Keke is entering his senior season with the Aggies, and if they’re going to beat the Tigers — who have won 10 or more games every year since 2011 — then he’ll likely have to help lead the defensive charge against the Dabo Swinney-led team.
