Yessir! Texas A&M won arguably it’s biggest recruiting battle since Myles Garrett Monday evening as top dual-threat quarterback Kellen Mond pledged to the Aggies over division rival Auburn.

Currently the starting quarterback for IMG Academy in Florida, Mond is originally from Texas and it would appear playing in the Lone Star State is something that intrigues the former Baylor commit. The quarterback prospect announced the news of his commitment via his Twitter feed Monday evening:

Rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the nation by 247Sports Composite Ratings, Mond had been committed to Baylor before the firing of former head coach Art Briles. Immediately after decommitting from the Bears, Mond had indicated Auburn was the favorite to land his services, however after multiple trips to both Auburn and College Station, the pull to play in his home state appears have been too much for Mond to turn down.

Despite vacationing in Spain, Texas A&M head coach immediately hit Twitter to show his excitement following news of Mond’s commitment:

After losing both sophomore Kyle Allen and freshman Kyler Murray last offseason, the Aggies quarterback depth is poised to take another hit once senior starter Trevor Knight graduates following the season. If Mond sticks with his commitment, he should contend for immediate playing time in College Station in 2017.

During his junior season, played at San Antonio Reagan, Mond threw for 1,991 yards and 26 touchdowns with four interceptions. The quarterback also ran for 898 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
