Texas A&M running back Trayveon Williams says the Aggies’ confidence level is “real high” as the team prepares to host South Carolina on Saturday.

Part of that high level of confidence has to do with how well A&M’s freshman quarterback, Kellen Mond, has been playing lately.

“He was kind of tossed into the fire as a true freshman,” Williams said. “He was pushed into the game and had to go in at a big-time moment. Now he has a different look in his eyes. He looks at the game from a whole different aspect.

“He’s become way more vocal and has become the leader he was born to be,” Williams added. “He’s doing that, and I’m ready to see what’s more to come from him.”

Mond has thrown well over 500 yards with five touchdown passes in just the last two weeks against Louisiana and Arkansas.

The Aggies will battle the Gamecocks at Kyle Field on the SEC Network at 7:30 p.m. ET.
