Zach Calzada is the guy in College Station these days as Haynes King recovers from a leg injury.

And, on Saturday against New Mexico (and former Kentucky QB Terry Wilson), Calzada looked the part of a QB1 early in the first quarter.

First, he got the ball in Devon Achane’s hands and let the speedy running back do the rest on this 26-yard touchdown:

Then, Calzada got to show off a bit. Later in the first quarter, he aired it out to hit freshman WR Demond Demas for this 70-yard touchdown:

Demas played in 4 games last year, but didn’t record any statistics. This was his first career catch, and what a catch it was!

Texas A&M already holds a 14-0 lead over the Lobos, and the first quarter isn’t even halfway through.
