5-star 2019 ATH Quavaris Crouch hasn’t played his senior season due to an injury, but when he does return to the field in college, it will be at linebacker, not at running back.

Crouch, a big-time Tennessee target, discussed his decision this week, and per a profile in the Washington Post, Washington Redskins’ RB Adrian Peterson agrees with Crouch’s choice.

Crouch said he feels the best way to extend his football career is to play linebacker in college:

“I want to be smart about it,” Crouch said Monday afternoon in a phone conversation. “My passion is running back. I love to play running back. I love to score touchdowns. Realistically, I feel like linebacker is the best for me.”

Peterson — one of the best to ever play running back — added that he’d probably play a different position if he had to do his career over again:

“Yeah, definitely,” Peterson said. If he was 18 now, Peterson says, he would choose wide receiver or put on weight and become a pass rusher, “like Von Miller or something,” Peterson said.

Per the 247Sports composite, Crouch is the No. 2 athlete in the class of 2019 and the No. 1 overall recruit from the state of North Carolina.
