New Orleans tight end prospect Glenn Beal is taking an official visit to Tennessee this weekend, according to a tweet he sent out on Thursday.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Beal is a massive class of 2018 prospect. He’s rated as a 3-star by the 247Sports Composite and is listed as the No. 27 tight end in the country. He’s also the No. 23 overall prospect in Louisiana.

Beal has other SEC offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and LSU among others.

He’s projected at 100 percent to LSU by the 247Sports Composite.

However, with Tennessee’s recent hire of Austin Thomas, who previously served as LSU’s general manager, some new doors may have opened. If you are unfamiliar with Thomas, here’s everything you need to know about Tennessee’s new staff member.

If the Volunteers could pull Beal away from LSU, it would be an immediate win for Jeremy Pruitt and his new staff.

Beal confirmed via Twitter he will be in Knoxville this weekend:
