Bowling Green coach Scot Loeffler discusses Joe Milton after he was named Vols' QB1
The Tennessee Volunteers have their starting quarterback, and it’s Michigan transfer Joe Milton III.
Milton beat out Virginia Tech transfer Hendon Hooker and returning Vol Harrison Bailey for the starting job. He’ll take the first snaps when the Vols open the SEC season on Thursday night against Bowling Green.
On Monday, Bowling Green coach shared his thoughts on Milton and how the Vols’ new QB1 fits into head coach Josh Heupel’s system:
Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler says Joe Milton has a big arm for Josh Heupel's offense, and will be exciting and fits well in Heupel's system.

Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler says he has watched Joe Milton and studied Josh Heupel's offense quite a bit. Loeffler says it is a misconception that Heupel's offense throws it a lot.

Heupel’s offense will be fast-paced, we know that for sure. But Loeffler is right that it’s not always the passing game Heupel tries to carve up defenses with.
We’ll see how well Milton plays on Thursday night and if he continues to get the chance to start for the Vols moving forward this fall.
