Tennessee enters Florida Week with a big question mark surrounding one of the program’s best players as Bryce Thompson may have returned to practice last week on Rocky Top but he did not suit up against Chattanooga on Saturday for the Vols after returning to the program from suspension.

The Volunteer defense will need all the help it can get this weekend if the team has any chance to come away with a road victory in Gainesville and Thompson would be a big boost for Pruitt’s unit but when asked about the sophomore’s availability for the game — or if he would even make the trip to Florida, the coach wouldn’t offer much of an update.

“I’ve not decided that,” Pruitt said on Monday.

Thompson has yet to play this season after allegedly making threats to “shoot up the school” following a verbal altercation with his girlfriend. Thompson was named a Freshman All-American after leading Tennessee in interceptions and pass break up last fall.

Tennessee is nearly a two-touchdown underdog against Florida looking ahead to Saturday’s game in Gainesville. Tennessee and Florida are scheduled to meet at Saturday, Sept. 21 at Noon on ESPN.
