Butch Jones seems to be searching for alternative methods to cure Tennessee’s recent struggles.

During a Wednesday news conference, the Volunteers coach brought up a Wall Street Journal story that correlates high-fives and chest-bumps to wins.

Tennessee has dropped its last three games after a 5-0 start, most recently a puzzling loss at South Carolina. The team’s tailspin took a turn for the worst Monday when Jones announced running back Jalen Hurd’s mid-season transfer from the team.

There has been no shortage of speculation about Hurd’s relationship with his teammates possibly influencing his decision, which has since morphed into a referendum on Jones’ coaching ability.

With so much turmoil surrounding the program, it’s odd to see Jones suggesting high-fives and chest-bumps could turn around the Vols’ once-promising season.
