Tennessee had a rough Saturday, losing 48-17 at home to No. 2 Alabama. It’s the third rough Saturday in a row for Jeremy Pruitt’s Volunteers.

Since leading 21-17 at the half at Georgia on Oct. 10, a disastrous 10 quarters have followed for UT. UGA scored 27 unanswered points to win 44-21. The following week, Kentucky delivered a 34-7 blowout at Neyland Stadium. And then there was, of course, where Alabama dominated from start to finish to extend its streak to 14 in a row.

FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd piled on, tagging the official Tennessee football account in a Twitter troll about UT fans hoping for a return to the glory days of over two decades ago.

“I give (Tennessee) fans credit. Haven’t been legit national title contender for over two decades— but they never quit believing 1998 is pulling into the driveway any day now,” Cowherd tweeted.

Cowherd may regret trolling Tennessee since his mentions are certainly flooded with replies from Vol Twitter.

UT is off on Halloween. The Vols will look to right the ship at Arkansas on Nov. 7.
