Some unfortunate news to share from Rocky Top as Tennessee AD Phillip Fulmer has just announced he has tested positive for COVID.

According to the Tennessee legend, a second test has confirmed his positive results.

Here is the statement issued by Fulmer on Friday:

“Yesterday, I learned that I had returned a positive test for COVID-19, and I immediately began following our isolation protocol. A second test confirmed the previous positive. I remain asymptomatic at this point, I am feeling fine and will continue to work remotely while adhering to CDC and local health department guidelines. I have not been deemed to be a close contact with any of our student-athletes or sport-specific staff members.”

The silver lining here is that Fulmer shared that he didn’t come into close contact with any members of Jeremy Pruitt’s team or staff, so this weekend’s game against Auburn shouldn’t be an issue for the Vols.

However, while Tennessee has been fortunate when it comes to testing so far this season, the results from the next few tests in Knoxville will certainly be something to monitor closely.
