The No. 2 junior college cornerback, who previously was expected to choose between Virginia Tech and West Virginia, has decided to take an official visit to Tennessee this weekend.

Jeremy Webb counts eight offers after playing for ASA College in Brooklyn, N.Y. He’s originally from Lincolnshire, Ill. Webb is a 4-star prospect, according to 247 Sports, and listed at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds.

The new Tennessee staff is looking for immediate help from the JUCO ranks as Jeremy Pruitt’s staff is looking for players who can contribute early. With Pruitt’s background as a defensive coach, particularly with the secondary, this may signal Pruitt’s philosophy for defensive backs in Knoxville.

The announcement is viewed as a win for the new staff as Webb reportedly chose Tennessee to visit this weekend instead of Florida.
