The injury that caused former Tennessee DB Brian Randolph to be carried off the field in the Los Angeles Rams vs. Dallas Cowboys preseason game Saturday has been revealed to be a torn ACL.

Randolph suffered a torn ACL as a sophomore with the Volunteers three games into the 2012 season. He wrapped up his UT career in 2015, signing with the Rams this spring as an undrafted free agent.

He told Go Vols Xtra in April that the Rams had shown interest from the very beginning.

“They were interested since Day 1,” Randolph said. “They showed loyalty to me, so I’m going to show loyalty to them.”

He was optimistic at the time about his chance to make the team.

“They definitely need a safety,” Randolph said. “And they say I fit their mold very well.”
