It’s official, Hendon Hooker is a Vol.

The former Virginia Tech quarterback announced his transfer to Tennessee on Thursday, and just a day later, the Volunteers announced Hooker has signed on with Jeremy Pruitt’s program.

A native of Greensboro, N.C., Hooker has completed 197 of 312 passes (63.1 percent) for 2,894 yards with 22 touchdowns and just seven interceptions in his time with the Hokies.

In addition to his success passing the ball, Hooker has rushed for 1,033 yards and added 15 touchdowns on the ground after making 21 appearances for Virginia Tech.

“We look forward to Hendon joining the Tennessee football family this semester,” Pruitt said in a statement released on Friday. “Hendon is a very talented and dynamic quarterback with multiple years of Power Five experience. He will be a great addition to our quarterback room and make a positive impact with two years of eligibility remaining.”

Hooker earned his undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, making him eligible immediately at Tennessee as a graduate transfer. Hooker has two seasons of eligibility remaining at Tennessee.
