Jalin Hyatt may have some extra motivation for this week’s game against South Carolina.

Hyatt, who is from South Carolina, was not recruited by the Gamecocks in high school. Hyatt remembered the lack of interest from South Carolina and he made his Tennessee teammates aware of that.

During an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” Hyatt discussed not being recruited by South Carolina in high school. Eisen followed up by asking if the rest of the Tennessee team knew about Hyatt not being recruited by South Carolina. Hyatt confirmed that he notified the team about South Carolina’s failure to recruit him.

While Hyatt equated this week’s game to a regular game, he had some personal connection to it. South Carolina will have a tough task with slowing down Hyatt. Last week, Hyatt had 7 receptions for 146 yards against Missouri.

His junior season is one of the best receiving seasons in recent years. On the season, Hyatt has recorded 58 receptions, 1,116 receiving yards, and 15 touchdowns. Hyatt is 1st in touchdown receptions and 2nd in the country in receiving yards. He has been dominant and will look to carry that momentum through the end of the season.

Tennessee will visit South Carolina on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
