Jim Nagy, the executive director of the Senior Bowl, on Tuesday spoke about Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker participating in activities this week in Mobile, Alabama while he’s recovering from an ACL injury that ended his 2022 season.

And it’s perfectly normal. In fact, Nagy has said that Hooker “more than earned” an invite to the Senior Bowl.

“Plenty of guys have come down here and been a part of the event, Hendon is like anyone else.. a few years ago we had Devonta Smith and Landon Dickerson come down here while being injured,” he said. “With interviews, and media-room time being so critical for quarterbacks, and with Hendon being the person he is and the season he had …”

Projecting Hooker’s NFL Draft future, Nagy said Hooker “was the face of college football for a good chunk of the season. A lot (regarding draft status) is going to depend on the medicals.”

Hooker was projected before the season to be taken in the 4th round of the NFL Draft, but along with Oregon’s Bo Nix, Nagy said Hooker improved his draft stock before the injury.
